CropEnergies AG, Mannheim, supports filling stations that convert pumps to E85 - a fuel for use in Flexible Fuel Vehicles (FFVs) - to promote the extension of the E85 filling station network in Germany.

CropPower85 - the new quality fuel at the filling station

CropPower85 is a quality E85 (bioethanol-petrol blend) fuel manufactured according to DIN 51625 with a bioethanol content of up to 86%. E85 is a fuel for FFVs, vehicles which, with a technically relatively simple modification, can be supplied ex factory or subsequently converted to run on bioethanol, a bioethanol-petrol blend or pure petrol.
CropEnergies as a trailblazer for E85 in Germany
CropEnergies first introduced the new E85 fuel CropPower85 in February 2006 at filling stations of the OIL! Group.
CropEnergies focuses on quality. Our fuel quality team was actively involved in the drafting of this industry standard. To guarantee the quality of our fuel at the pump, we deliver directly to the filling stations.
CropPower85 on the race track
Since March 2009 CropEnergies has been fuel and technology partner to HEICO SPORTIV, the well-known Volvo tuner. The purpose of the joint motor sports venture is to demonstrate that bioethanol, produced from regenerative raw materials, not only protects the environment but is also a high-performance fuel. The historical victory of Heico Sportiv at the 38th ADAC 24 hour race on the Nürburgring has proven the high-performance of CropPower85- congratulations! The joint racing project involves a 350 HP C30 T5 Volvo powered with CropPower85 that will be competing in a number of endurance races at the Nürburgring race track.

The advantages of CropPower85 at a glance

  • With over 104 octane (RON) CropPower85 is one of the highest performance fuels ever available at the filling station.
  • CropPower85 increases the engine's output, and the engine works more efficiently.
3. Environment-friendly and sustainable
  • CropPower85 is low in sulphur content and considerably reduces greenhouse gas emissions and soot particles.
  • The bioethanol contained in CropPower85 is produced from regenerative raw materials.
4. Quality according to DIN 51625
  • CropPower85 conforms to the fuel standard DIN 51625. CropEnergies was actively involved in the development of this standard for guaranteeing a consistent high standard of quality for this new fuel.
CropPower85 is only suitable for FFVs. In Germany, these vehicle models are currently offered by Audi, Ford, Saab, Opel, Renault and Volvo.

Strong partners for the expansion of the filling station network

In 2006, OIL! Tankstellen GmbH was the first filling station operator in Germany to offer CropPower85 on a country-wide basis. There are a total of over 200 OIL! filling stations in Germany. Our cooperation with OIL! is a good base for the further expansion of the E85 filling station network. TEBBE-Mineralölhandel GmbH & Co. KG has joined us as another strong partner for the distribution of our quality CropPower85 fuel in Lower Saxony. Other independent filling stations are also amongst our partners, and their numbers are growing continuously.
We support filling station operators who want to take up CropPower85 in their ranges with advice not only in connection with re-equipment and permits but also on questions of marketing E85. An additional strong partner has joined us in the expansion of the E85 market in Germany in the shape of Tokheim Service-Gruppe. The Tokheim specialists look after about 4,500 filling stations across Germany, and have outstanding experience with E85 filling stations, too. Mutual support in promoting each other's services is expected to further widen the filling station infrastructure.
The number of E85 filling stations in Germany is steadily growing. The aim is to build up a blanket network across Germany. In addition to the close cooperation with numerous filling station operators, we are also working closely together with automobile manufacturers.
