CropEnergies AG, Mannheim, supports filling stations that convert pumps to E85 - a fuel for use in flexible fuel vehicles (FFVs) - with a total of up to 250,000 €, to promote the extension of the E85 filling station network in Germany.
Under the brand-name CropPower85, CropEnergies has been distributing a quality fuel for FFVs in Germany since February 2006.
CropPower85 - the new quality fuel at the filling station
CropPower85 is a so-called E85 fuel. It is composed of about 85% bioethanol, to which around 15% of petrol is blended. E85 is a fuel for FFVs, vehicles which with a comparatively simple modification are able to run on bioethanol, on a bioethanol-petrol blend or on pure petrol.
CropEnergies as a trailblazer for E85 in Germany
In February 2006, CropEnergies initially introduced CropPower85 at filling stations of the OIL! Group.
In a market without specific fuel standard, CropEnergies relies on quality. We produce our fuels according to the recommendations made by a European working party on E85 (CEN-Workshop agreement CWA) and deliver it directly to the filling stations.
In addition, CropEnergies participates in German and European norming committies to draw up a norm for E85.

- CropPower85 increases the engine's output, and the engine works more efficiently.

- The bioethanol contained in CropPower85 is produced from regenerative raw materials.

- CropPower85 offers the FFV driver an economical alternative and reduces his exposure to continuously increasing crude oil prices.
- Proven quality
- In the USA, Brazil and Sweden fuels with high proportions of bioethanol are already being used in road vehicles in very large quantities.

CropPower85 is only suitable for FFVs. In Germany, these vehicles are currently being marketed by Ford, Saab and Volvo.
Reliable partners for the expansion of the filling station network
In 2006, the OIL! Tankstellen GmbH was the first filling station operator in Germany to offer CropPower85 on a country-wide basis. In total, there are over 200 OIL! filling stations in Germany. Our co-operation with OIL! is a good base for the further expansion of the E85 filling station network. The TEBBE-Mineralölhandel GmbH & Co. KG has joined us as another strong partner for the distribution of our quality CropPower85 fuel in Lower Saxony. Other independent filling stations are also amongst our partners, and their numbers are growing continuously.
We support filling station operators who want to take up CropPower85 in their ranges both in the context of re-equipment and permits and in questions of marketing E85. An additional strong partner has joined us in the shape of Franz Göhler GmbH und Co. KG Tank- und Industrieanlagen in the expansion of the E85 market in Germany. The Göhler specialist operations look after some 4,500 filling stations across Germany, and have outstanding experience with E85 filling stations too. Mutual support in promoting the respective services will lead to expansion of the filling station infrastructure.
The number of E85 filling stations in Germany is still relatively small, but it is our intention to build up a blanket network across Germany. In addition to close co-operation with an ever-greater number of filling station operators, we are also working closely together with automobile manufacturers.
