ProtiGrain

Market

The dried stillage from cereals and sugar syrups is marketed European-wide under the label name ProtiGrain®. Since production started in May 2005 and foreign customers have shown an active interest in our "new" animal feed, which is used as component in compound feeds or directly in cattle feeding.
In the meantime we also have pet food-producers among our clientele.
This animal feed is "new" because for centuries, stillage has been used as by-product from the alcohol production for feeding, but in liquid form and accordingly locally strongly limited. By drying and pelletising there is a marketable and stockable product available, which is transportable over long distances.
The pellet size of 6mm fits for compounds with other pellets and/or the direct feed within the cattle range. A product advantage is the careful indirect drying process of the product in the so called tube bundle dryer. There the product is very carefully dried with relatively low temperatures (under 100 degrees celsius). If the emphasis of the use was at first with cattle feed, ProtiGrain® has also found a very fast introduction in the rations for growing-finishing pigs and has there replaced proportionately soya bean meal extract. ProtiGrain® is aslo a popular component in compound feed for poultry and in pet food.
Price fixing orients itself onthe developments with the soya bean meal extract and the grain price.  Beside high contents of crude protein and usable crude protein (nXP), the energy content also plays a very large role.
We have apporximately 45% German customers. Further important customers are in the Netherlands, Italy, Denmark, Switzerland, France and Great Britain.
