One of the largest ethanol plants in Europe
In Wilton, United Kingdom, the CropEnergies subsidiary Ensus UK Ltd operates one of the largest ethanol plants in Europe. Ensus has been a member of the CropEnergies Group since July 2013.
In addition to ethanol, Ensus also produces the valuable protein animal feed DDGS (Distillers' Dried Grains with Solubles) from the delivered feed grain. The plant has an annual production capacity of 400,000 m³ of ethanol and 350,000 tonnes of DDGS. Ensus also supplies 250,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide per year to a partner company, which purifies and liquefies the CO2 for use in the food and beverage industry.
