Our new business field of renewable biochemicals makes a valuable contribution to climate protection. Fossil carbons must be replaced by renewables in the future. It is not only the EU that has set itself this goal. Many studies show the future change and the leading chemical companies are already taking first steps here. Our first survey also showed that the vast majority of the companies surveyed are already using renewable raw materials or plan to do so in the near future.
CropEnergies AG, Mannheim, and Johnson Matthey, London, a leading company for sustainable technologies, have concluded an exclusive planning, license and technical service agreement for a plant that will enable us to produce renewable ethyl acetate from sustainable ethanol near our production site in Zeitz.
The plant is to be designed for 50,000 tonnes of ethyl acetate per year, which can be produced from renewable ethanol and using renewable energy. An investment of about 80 to 100 million euros is planned for this.
