Neutral alcohol


Our subsidiary, Ryssen Alcools SAS, has been a specialist for neutral alcohol since 1829. Ryssen in Loon-Plage, France, produces neutral alcohol for traditional and technical applications using raw alcohol made from field crops containing sugar or starch. Ryssen flexibly tailors its high-quality products to the wishes of its customers in the beverage, food and cosmetics industries as well as the pharmaceutical and chemical industries. Production at Loon-Plage is certified according to ISO 9001.
The production facilities with an annual capacity of up to 90 million litres are located in the port of Dunkirk. In addition to the direct access for barges and seagoing vessels, rail cars and road tankers can also be loaded and unloaded at the site.
Ryssen Alcools was established as the family firm Fauconnier in 1829. The company joined the Südzucker subsidiary Saint Louis Sucre in1979 and has been part of the CropEnergies Group since 2008.
